The NSW Government is asking for community feedback on draft plans for the new Alex Avenue precinct primary school in Schofields, which is on public exhibition until Wednesday, May 1.
The draft plans are for the construction of a new school on the corner of Farmland Drive and the future Pelican Road.
Executive Director Priority Projects, David Gainsford, said community input is a vital part of the planning process and encouraged everyone to have their say on the draft plans.
"The new school development would include a two-storey admin building, a library and staff room, four two-storey classroom buildings, a single-storey assembly hall and associated car parking and landscaping," he said.
Mr Gainsford said the draft plans are part of the Government's strategic planning approach to support the sustained growth in the area.
"The Schofields community is getting bigger, but it is important this growth is planned and co-ordinated," he said.
"We want to hear from the community about their views on the draft plans to help us make a thorough and rigorous assessment and ensure any potential impacts to the surrounding area and local people are considered,"
The Environmental Impact Statement and all associated documents are available on the NSW Major Projects Planning Portal.
"It's a great opportunity for mums and dads and other local stakeholders to get involved and have their say on the proposed development. People can also sign up on the Planning Portal website for regular project updates," said Mr Gainsford.
The Department of Planning will consider community submissions received, along with feedback from other government agencies and councils, in order to assess the development application and the proposed amendments to the planning controls.
