HISTORICAL fiction author Stephanie Parkyn is visiting Hawkesbury Central Library on Friday, March 2 from 10:30am to midday to talk about her debut novel, Into the World.
The story is set in 1791, during the French Revolution and is inspired by the true story of Marie-Louise Girardin, an unwed mother who seeks escape and independence.
Disguised as a man, Marie-Louise joins a voyage of exploration employed as a steward on the Recherche, to find the missing explorer La Perouse.
Copies of Ms Parkyn’s book will be available for purchase and signing.
This is a free event with refreshments included. Bookings are essential – go to www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com or call 4560 4460.
The event will be held at Hawkesbury Central Library, 300 George Street, Windsor.
