RICHMOND boxer Joel Brunker is hopeful of his next fight being in front of his home crowd and it could be a big one if he has his way.
Brunker had a fight lined up for late last year, but it eventually fell through, and now his management team is looking to secure one in either Melbourne or Sydney, and Brunker is keen to fight here.
Brunker told the Gazette that he was hopeful of setting up a regional title fight, potentially with an Indonesian fighter, for his next bout.
Brunker, who is currently ranked 7th in the World Boxing Association, is hopeful of earning a world title fight in 2018.
If Brunker was to win his next fight, there is every chance he could challenge for the world featherweight title fight later in the year.
After starting his career with 28-0, Brunker is now 4-0 since his ill-fated trip to Britain to fight Lee Selby, one of only two losses in his entire 34 bout career.
His four victories have featured two knockouts and two unanimous decisions.
