Hawkesbury Police said a woman’s attempt to separate dogs resulted in the loss of part of a finger around 8am on Tuesday morning.
The woman’s two dogs had been fighting and she leant in to try and separate them when her hand was mauled.
Police did not have details on the breeds of the dogs but said as they were the woman’s own dogs it was her decision as to what she did with them now.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said the woman was 42 and was in a stable condition when she was transported to Norwest Private Hospital.
