HAWKESBURY City FC is excited for its Skills Acquisition Program this season, after hiring four top coaches to give young players the best opportunity to develop their skills.
Trials for the program start on October 22.
First grade coach Dean Bertenshaw said even he was amazed at the level of coaches the club had acquired and he was one of the people convincing them to join.
“We've gone out and got four of the most qualified coaches anywhere, which is unusual for a junior program and it will be great for the little kids,” he said.
“We've been really fortunate that we've got some guys who will come out and help the kids.”
The Skills Acquisition Program is for ages 9-12, and the club will trial for the upcoming 2018 season.
Bertenshaw said the club wanted to give players in the program excellent coaching to develop their skills while they were young.
“We're looking for as many kids as we can find who will want to get the benefit out of the coaching while they're developing,” he said.
Bertenshaw said all of the coaches they had hired for the SAP had either coached at a professional or semi-professional level.
