The first weekend of spring wasn’t all sunshine and roses, after a number of people were arrested by Hawkesbury Police for drink driving offences across the region.
Offending drivers were detected at both road side breath testing sites and as a result of police attending motor vehicle collisions.
Chief Inspector Garry Sims of Hawkesbury Local Area Command described the weekend as disappointing.
“Every police vehicle in the Command is a mobile breath testing unit and a focus is on detecting drivers impaired by alcohol in an attempt to keep the roads safe and the area fatality free,” Chief Inspector Sims said.
"It is disappointing that drivers choose to drive after drinking alcohol. This practice increases the chance of being involved in a collision and places members of the community at risk. Remember, drink driving is a crime.
All persons detected over the weekend will appear before the Windsor Local Court.
