MACQUARIE will have a chance to defend their Hawkesbury City Netball Association title from last year, after qualifying for this season’s grand final.
Macquarie were too good for Londonderry at the weekend in the region’s top netball grade, winning 52-33 in the preliminary final.
The defending champions Macquarie will play Poppets Blue in the grand final, to be played on Saturday from 3pm.
As for the other senior grades, Colo Pink and Huxley will play in the A2 grand final.
In the B1 Grade, Macquarie and Pitt Town-Oakville Purple will play. In B2, Poppets Pink and Green Hills will play. In B3, Riverstone and Macquarie will take on each other.
In C1 Blue, Riverstone Red and Pitt Town-Oakville Purple qualified for the final. In C1 Maroon, Pitt Town-Oakville Black and Woodlands will contest the grand final. In C2 Grade, Green Hills and Colo Black will take on each other.
Hawkesbury wins
In Metro League Netball, Hawkesbury defeated Penrith last week in round 17 of division five.
Hawkesbury had a three-goal win over the second-placed Penrith in the penultimate round of the regular season.
