The Windsor Highway Patrol will be running their very popular Young Driver Awareness program on Friday, August 11.
Between January 2009 and May 2015, young adults aged 17 to 25 years accounted for 41 per cent of all fatalities and 32 per cent of all drivers and riders involved in fatal crashes within the Hawkesbury Local Government Area.
The driver program is organised and run by experienced members of the Hawkesbury Highway Patrol.
It is free and uses video’s created by the Victorian Transport Accident Commission throughout the presentation. The video’s are created using actors and special effects but are far and away the most realistic re-creations of crashes that can be seen.
The program has been running since 2013 with over 800 Hawkesbury young drivers and their parents having participated. Positions on the program are limited.
