HAWKESBURY City Junior Rugby League Club was thrilled with how many turned up to the club’s Back to Hawkesbury day at Turnbull Oval on Saturday.
The club hosted its reunion for former players and officials of the club, as well as the old Richmond and Colo clubs which combined to make Hawkesbury City, on the weekend.
Club president Leigh Stokes said a couple of thousand people would have turned up to Turnbull Oval over the course of Saturday.
“We had a great day. We had every single team in the club play at home on Saturday, so it was really good with 15 games of footy,” he said.
“We had some really old players and officials and some Hawkesbury players from the last 30 years, we had a really good roll up of old boys you could say.
Stokes said it was a great day for the club, with the A Grade defeating local rivals Londonderry.
“Thanks to all the former players and officials who came out and supported the club on a cold night and hopefully we see them back next year,” he said.
