HAWKESBURY City Junior Rugby League will host another Back to Hawkesbury Day to mark the club’s 30th year.
Last year, for the first time, the club committee took it upon themselves to organise a reunion for past members, and they were thrilled with how many people turned up.
Emboldened by last year’s success, and in a milestone year, they have decided another reunion day is in order and hope to see even more past faces on July 1 at Turnbull Oval, North Richmond.
Perhaps the club’s most high profile past member Brad Drew, the former NRL player, will be there according to club president Leigh Stokes, but the club wants anyone who has had a past association to show up.
“We're hoping for another bumper crowd,” Stokes said.
“We've had people calling from different parts of the state and asking about when it is on, so we're expecting a lot of people travelling from far and wide.
Stokes said he was a relative newcomer to the club, with only five years at Hawkesbury City, but nevertheless said he was happy to have found a home at North Richmond.
“We have a great bunch of people at the club at the moment. It is a good community based club, the people are very relaxed,” he said.
Stokes said anyone who wanted further information should contact the club via its Facebook page.
