JUST before dusk this Saturday, February 25, pack up a picnic and folding chairs or a blanket and head to Memorial Park in Kurrajong Village for a magical evening of world-class jazz – for free.
From 5.30pm the Steve Arie Trio will headline Jazz in the Park organised by Kurrajong Community Forum and Hawkesbury City Council.
The Steve Arie Trio plays a wide selection of well-known jazz and Latin standards, from artists including Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Louis Armstrong.
Joining Steve, who doubles on vocals and sax, is Craig Scott on double bass and Barney Wakeford on piano.
Musicians in the band have played with the likes of Don Burrows, James Morrison, and George Washingmachine at venues such as Arturos in New York, the 616 Club in London and The Cellar in Edinburgh.
There will be delicious food, ice cream and coffee vans in the park, and village businesses will be keen to feed the crowds. For more see the Kurrajong Community Forum Facebook page.
