The Giants won the opening round of the maiden Suncorp Super Netball championship at the weekend, defeating the NSW Swifts 58-53 at Sydney Olympic Park.
The newly establish Australian netball competition started with a Sydney Derby that did not disappoint.
Giants captain Kimberley Green said Rebecca Bulley was one of the best for the Giants on Saturday.
“I don’t expect any different from Bec Bulley,” Green said.
“She’s a smooth operator and one of our best tonight.”
Bulley, who is a new mother, was convinced to come out of retirement by the Giants and made an immediate impact, taking a couple of intercepts which swung the course of the game.
It was not an easy win for the Giants, with the estbalished Swifts forcing the expansion team to work hard for the club’s maiden win.
This week, the Giants take on the West Coast Fever at 7pm on Saturday night, in a home match at Qudos Bank Arena.
