HAWKESBURY Cricket Club’s Jas Cheema had remarkable bowling figures in the club’s Poidevin-Gray Shield win over Manly-Warringah at the weekend.
The team has qualified for the under-21 competition semi-finals after defeating their opponents.
Rain meant each team was given 15 overs each.
Hawkesbury’s Cheema emerged with the remarkable figures of 2-2 off three overs in what turned into a slog fest thanks to the shortened game.
The Hawks won the match after posting 7-104, and holding Manly-Warringah to 9-97.
Ryan Mizzi top scored with 29 runs off 26 balls.
In first grade on Saturday, after a promising start, bad weather forced a halt to play.
The match against Mosman ended in a draw unfortunately.
The Hawks were on top, and had a good shot at winning the one-day match.
Compounding the Hawks’ woes, most other games had a result in NSW Premier Cricket at the weekend.
