Blackened symphonic extremists Fleshgod Apocalypse will tour Australia in June.
It’s been a while since the Italian maestros hit our shores and this visit is on the back of arguably their finest release, King (2016).
Combining death and black metal with skillfully layered orchestral arrangements, Fleshgod Apocalypse take the listener on a dark journey of truly epic proportions.
Since forming a decade ago (in 2007) they have grabbed the metal world by the throat and maintained the stranglehold.
Their music owes as much to film score composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Howard Shore, as it does melodic death metal acts like Carcass, At The Gates and Morbid Angel.
They will play two dates in New Zealand before playing Brisbane’s Crowbar on Thursday, June 1, the Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney on Friday, June 2, and Max Watts in Melbourne on Saturday, June 3.
Tickets for each of the shows are now available through directtouring.oztix.com.au
The band are well known for their songwriting and all five band members challenge themselves with each release.
It took nine full months to complete the songwriting and arrangements for King.
Of the work, frontman Tommaso Riccardi said: “The new album is much more than the sum of its parts … I think we reached the perfect balance between all aspects of our music.
“I really believe that we simply wrote our best songs so far. Every riff is mind-blowing and the way we managed the arrangements and song structures is great; I really feel that everything is in the right place.”
