IF YOU love the look of lino cut prints, come and knock yourself out at an upcoming workshop at Richmond.
Learn how to do repeat patterns in lino, create a square tile effect or create a frieze on paper or fabric at Hawkesbury Printmakers next workshop on Saturday, October 8.
While you can leave your design inspiration till the day, it’s fun to bring ideas with you – either geometrical designs you’ve seen or Moroccan themes or steal heritage or Australiana ideas.
Participants will be shown how to trace a quarter of the design and transfer it to lino for carving. Your lino piece can be used as a stamp or flipped and printed with the etching press or bookpress.
Varied positioning and different ink colours can build a quilt of blocks, a frieze edge or bring your own idea. Workshop facilitators love seeing the different ideas participants come up with.
While the $35 cost includes inks and lino and use of tools, participants will need to bring their own fabric – details on registration.
It runs from 10am-3pm at Building K13 ( the Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop) on the Western Sydney University at Richmond.
Tea and coffee available, bring your own lunch. Phone Sheila on 0408 161 284 to book or enquire or email se.sharp@bigpond.net.au.
