ANDREW Jones of Kurrajong Heights has been holding free meditation courses in the Hawkesbury for years, and is starting another of the very popular series on Monday, October 10.
The four-week non-religious course not only teaches meditation techniques which are a life-long skill, but a little bit of the Indian philosophy behind the principles which bring such peace to practitioners.
One aspect Andrew is interested in is the female aspect of the divinity. “All indigenous cultures have the utmost respect for the mother earth,” he said. “We have separated ourselves from the love of the Mother. We pollute her rivers, seas and land and take more than we need. In Sahaja Yoga you reconnect through the awakening of the ancient female energy called kundalini, which has been described for thousands of years.
“When kundalini awakens from the sacrum bone she manifests as a cool breeze above the top of the head and in the palms of the hands.” After this you experience thoughtless awareness and become more spontaneous, appreciate the beauty in everyone, and become peaceful. It runs every Monday from 7.30-8.30pm at North Richmond Community Centre Youth room at 33 William Street. Call Andrew on 4567 8030 or 0407 249 845.
