She works full time as an Animal Bio-technician and the rest of the time on her cattle stud, but Alexandrea Teuma has made time to represent her community in the Hawkesbury Showgirl competition.
Miss Teuma, 22, has lived in the Hawkesbury her whole life and is passionate about the area and it’s people.
She attended school in the area, before graduating from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Animal Science.
She said she has always been passionate about agriculture and she saw the Showgirl competition as a way of stepping outside her comfort zone and experiencing new opportunities.
“Agriculture and particularly cattle, have been an integral part of my life and I am blessed to have been able to work with them for such a long time and continue to do so,” Miss Teuma said.
“I believe that Agriculture is such a significant part of the Hawkesbury. Although I have never competed in a competition like this, my friend and I decided to enter together and to meet new people and participate in the experience as I have heard so many great things about the Showgirl competition.”
Miss Teuma said that while she is taking her Showgirl experience seriously, she believes she will bring some fun to the competition.
“My personality is what sets me apart as I am bubbly, energetic, inquisitive and spontaneous.
“Although I am not a girly girl, I am happy in my own skin and of my sense of self, which is truly what makes me believe that I will bring something unique to the Hawkesbury Showgirl competition.
“I hope that people will get to see how passionate I am about Agriculture and in particular cattle.”
