HELP support diabetes research and care at the inaugural Dine in Style fundraising degustation dinner at Loxley on Bellbird Hill.
Tickets are now on-sale for the event, which will take place at the restaurant on Saturday, August 6.
The team at Loxley is expecting around 100 guests to attend the dinner, which will include champagne on arrival and a degustation dinner with matching wines, along with entertainment, prizes and gift bags.
Profits for the event will be donated to My Westmead - a charity arm for Westmead Hospital and The Westmead Institute for Medical Research - to help support diabetes research and care.
Guests at the Dine in Style event will hear from keynote speaker, Associate Professor Wayne Hawthorne, who leads a specialised team of professionals committed to providing patients with the best possible treatments for Type 1 diabetes.
They are working to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes and to help patients that suffer from secondary complications such as renal failure.
“We have come so far in treatment options for Type 1 Diabetes, but we won’t stop until we find a cure,” said Professor Hawthorne.
During his address, he will explain the importance of financial support from donors who through gifts – big and small – make a real difference to their medical research.

Loxley owner, Paul Maher, has long supported My Westmead with events and fundraising campaigns.
Mr Maher has a personal connection with Westmead: both his parents were treated at Westmead Hospital and his son was in intensive care at Westmead’s ICU after a major motorcycle accident.
“Back in 2008, I had the opportunity to visit Westmead with a group of corporate donors and see first-hand the medical equipment and technology used by doctors and researchers,” said Mr Maher.
“A month later, my son’s life was literally saved at the same hospital thanks to this advanced equipment and the work of the great team at Westmead.”
My Westmead, Westmead Hospital and The Westmead Institute for Medical Research work together to provide ‘bench to bedside’ treatment and care for Western Sydney residents.
Breakthroughs and discoveries made by researchers in these teams are translated into actual outcomes for patients being treated locally.
