“Every new member of the band incurs a cost to the group of approximately $2000 for a uniform and if drummers, $1500 for a drum/harness and a piper, in excess of $2000 for basic bagpipes.
“In 2017 the band members are planning to represent the area, state and country again at the World Championships in Glasgow. If this happens it will be the band’s third trip, with others being undertaken in 2010 and 2012.”
Mr Gray said the Windsor RSL concert aimed to raise funds to outfit some of the newer players coming into the band.
He said that the club had donated the used of the auditorium to help maximise funds from ticket sales.
Tickets are available from the club now and cost $30 for adults, $20 for pensioners and members and $15 for those aged under 18.
