The Windsor native believes retiring netballers, who played in the 2015 Netball World Cup, have left a number of openings for young guns to stamp their authority on the game.
“The first year after a wold cup there are young players being brought in as older players retire,” she said.
“This is the first of a four year build up to the next world cup in 2019.
“There is an element on uncertainty in the competition and there is a heap of young players brought into the sport.
“The great thing about sport is you can bring a rookie in and they can have a break out year that no one sees coming and there is certainly a large amount of that going to happen.”
Ellis said it was hard to pinpoint where all the break outs would come from, only that she was certain a few players would make a name for themselves.
