SCHOOL student leaders from 25 Hawkesbury primary schools gathered together last week for a two-day Leadership Camp at Yarramundi.
The Year 6 students, who have been elected as captains, vice-captains and prefects of their respective schools, were involved in a range of activities at Camp Lutanda including public speaking, team initiatives, rock climbing and archery.
“These allowed the students to develop new skills and also meet the leaders of other schools and form friendships that will go with them into high school next year,” Comleroy Road Public School principal and organiser of the Leadership Camp, Cheryl Walker, told the Gazette.
“The combined Hawkesbury primary principals see leadership training as a priority for their school leadership teams.
“Many of the schools released their own staff to be involved in this valuable event, running activities and staying overnight.
“The feedback from the students was very positive. They made friendships and established connections, and pushed their boundaries and encouraged each other.”
