FAMILY life might give us our greatest joys, but no-one said it was easy. Richmond Community Services has some more new courses to help us navigate, since becoming a parent doesn’t come with a manual. Check out these latest offerings.
Stress Less for Dads – in just two evening sessions you can learn tools for stressing less about the demands of being a dad. It will equip you with more confidence and ideas for your father role and make everyone happier all round. It’s run in partnership with Western Sydney Family Referral Services and Windsor Professional Centre so there’s a lot of experience that is being drawn from to give you the gold. It’s on two consecutive Monday nights 6.30– 8.30pm on May 30 and June 6.
Supporting Your Teen through Parental Separation –also run in partnership with Western Sydney Family Referral Services and Windsor Professional Centre is this workshop for parents/primary carers of teens. Separation is hard on the whole family, not just the parents. It helps to minimise the negative impact on teens caught up in this difficult transition by sharing some tips and guidelines. It’s on Monday, May 2 from 6.30– 8.30pm.
Build a mind – This is a free school holiday Lego workshop for children with a disability with special needs aged 6-10. It’s an interactive workshop where children will be supported to build models and machines using Lego. It’s a fun way for them to use their imagination and develop important social and play skills. Carers must attend with their child. It’s on Wednesday, April 13 from 10am -12noon followed by lunch.
