The Hills Shire Council has voted to put an extra $600,000 toward an upgrade of Boundary Road.
Boundary Road is on one of the borders between The Hills and Hawkesbury council areas.
The Hills had previously committed to put $800,000 toward upgrading the road.
On Tuesday, November 24, The Hills Council voted unanimously, although four councillors were absent from the meeting, to approve the extra funding.
Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne said the road was in need of a major upgrade.
“Boundary Road is an important road for so many motorists from both The Hills and Hawkesbury and this major upgrade is needed now,” she said.
“This upgrade will help prevent potholes forming, cracks appearing and ultimately result in a more stable and vehicle friendly road.”
