THOSE who are aware of the joy of successful meditation will want to come to Khenpo’s next course starting next week.
Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe is a Tibetan Buddhist monk who regularly holds courses in the Hawkesbury. His next course is on the 37 Practices of Bodhisattvas.
One definition of a bodhisattva is a person who is able to reach ‘nirvana’ but delays doing so through compassion for the suffering of others. Another definition is a being whose essence is enlightenment.
The course teaches mind training with the aim of finding inner peace.
It’s at Richmond Community Centre, 20 West Market Street Richmond on Mondays July 6, 13, 27 and August 3 (no July 20).
Cost is $15 per class, pay at the door. It’s on 7.30-9pm.
