A trio of Australian country music’s finest female vocalists treated some of the area's youngsters to a live treat on Thursday ahead of their coming gig at Windsor RSL.
Golden Guitar winner Amber Lawrence, Aleyce Simmonds and Christie Lamb will treat students of Windsor and South Windsor public schools to an acoustic performance as a promotion for their Saturday, May 30 gig.
The three have come together under the touring banner, The Girls of Country.
They have developed a two-hour show in which they will not only perform their own hit songs, but will mix it up by treating the audience to several special trio performances.
They will also add their own twist to their colleagues’ material. While there are similarities between the ladies, there are also many differences in the styles of each.
Amber Lawrence is well-known for her up-tempo, fun and sassy tunes, interspersed with personal stories and heartfelt poignant ballads, while Aleyce Simmonds offers a balance, with more mid-tempo reflective tracks. Christie Lamb pushes the line between country and rock with her distinct brand of contemporary country.
Tickets for the Windsor RSL show are on sale now from the club.
