UPDATE: Hawkesbury's stand-alone race meet will go ahead despite some concerns about the track.
Hawkesbury Race Club chief executive Brian Fletcher confirmed the event would go ahead on Saturday after inspecting the track on Friday afternoon.
The track was inspected at 4pm on Friday and it was decided the track was suitable for racing on.
Another inspection will be held on Saturday morning at 6am with racecourse manager Jeff Haynes to determine whether Hawkesbury’s stand-alone event will go ahead.
The track was rated a heavy eight at 4pm on Friday.
Elsewhere, Shaun Guymer has secured a ride in tSaturday’s Group 3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup on board Evangelist.
Tony McEvoy’s second reserve comes into the race with the scratching of Laser Hawk and Diademe.
There will also be three local chances in the $100,000 Provincial Stayers Final over 2100 metres.
Jason Attard’s Sons of John, Carry On Singing and McEvoy’s Martian will represent the Hawkesbury on its stand-alone day.
