AN ELEGANT evening of wine and cheese tasting, featuring the best of local produce, is being held at Windsor High School this Saturday night.
The school’s Parents and Citizens Association is presenting the Windsor Country Delights Producers’ Market from 6pm.
Along with gourmet cheeses and superb wines, there will be a variety of delectable dishes including cakes, jams, pickles, honey, cold refreshments, tea and coffee.
A barbecue and colourful stage performances by the students will be highlights of the night.
Businesses taking part include Kurrajong Kitchens, White Prince Mushrooms, Australia’s Outback Bakehouse, The Chocolate Pot, The Loaf Bakery, Richmond Fruit Market and Sciberras Fresh Fruit and Vegetables.
Committee member and co-organiser, Helen Palmer, said this year they hoped to attract more than 200 people to meet their fundraising goal.
‘‘It’s important to recognise we, as a P&C, think the students are worth supporting by providing the best amenities possible,’’ she said.
‘‘As a parent with a student at the school, I want to be able to give students the best we can offer.’’
Money raised on the evening will go towards providing improved student amenities, including new aluminium tables and chairs for students to use at recess and lunch.
Admission is $10 adults, children free accompanied by an adult.
■Tickets available at the door, or from the school’s office, corner Mulgrave and Windsor Road, Mulgrave, a well as Speechley Property at 517 George Street, South Windsor.
