There'll be nothing blue about Windsor when the Sydney Blues and Roots festival hits the CBD later this month.
On October 24-26, well-known Australian blues artists, as well as those on their way up, will be taking to the stages around Hollands Paddock to bring the Hawkesbury a three-day festival of blues.
This year’s line-up features The Snowdroppers, Kevin Borich, Rick Price, Busby Marou, Ray Beadle, Spectrum Plays The Blues, The Flood, Jack Millar, The Radiators and many more.
The headline act is Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows.
The band formed back in 1984 and have achieved success both nationally and internationally.
They have toured Australia many times, played in front of sold-out crowds across Europe, won an ARIA award for best band and sold more than a million albums worldwide.
Joe Camilleri told the Gazette that he and the band were excited to perform their new and old hits for the festival.
‘‘It’s always very exciting to take the stage,’’ he said.
‘‘I will be just as nervous on the day as I was at my very first performance. It just means we care.’’
The band have also recently released their 17th album, Certified Blue.
‘‘The new album has been getting some incredible reviews, which is great,’’ Joe said.
‘‘When people like your stuff, you naturally get really excited.’’
The three-day festival, which attracts thousands of people to the area each year, will feature an outside stage set up in Hollands Paddock, behind Windsor Riverview Shopping Centre.
Tickets are now on sale for this year’s event.
