HOUSEHOLD garbage collection in the Hawkesbury LGA won’t be affected by Cleanaway’s decision to ground their 2800 fleet of trucks.
The grounding is a result of a fatality that occurred in South Australia on Monday afternoon, when a Cleanaway vehicle smashed into three stationary cars waiting at traffic lights in Adelaide.
The Hawkesbury was initially reported as one of the areas across Sydney that would be severely affected, while the company tests its vehicles for road worthiness.
While there will be a delay with kerbside clean-up, Council’s domestic garbage, recycling and garden organic waste services will not be affected.
“Fortunately, only the household clean-up service is affected and Hawkesbury residents can be assured that Council’s domestic garbage, recycling and garden organics services will not be affected, as these are provided by either Council or another contractor,’’ Mayor Kim Ford said.
“Residents in the Hawkesbury who have booked in clean-up services, or are awaiting the collection of bulky waste materials from the kerbside, are asked to follow instructions by Cleanaway.’’
Details: Cleanaway — 1300 889 527. Services will resume as soon as possible.
