Richmond cemetery under attack

One of NSW’s oldest burials grounds has been vandalised, with five historic headstones near the entrance kicked over and many others covered in graffiti.

Begun in 1810 and still in use, St Peter’s Cemetery at Richmond contains First Fleeters, many early pioneers and other notable residents of the Hawkesbury.

Chris Sinfield, a cemetery trustee member, has four generations of family members buried there and is ‘‘appalled’’ at the reckless behaviour.
