The Duchess of Cambridge has left London's Edward VII hospital, well enough to return home after treatment for severe morning sickness.
Looking tired but relaxed, the Duchess left hospital alongside Prince William, smiling and carrying a bunch of yellow roses, gifted to her by medical staff.
For now, Catherine has returned to the Kensington Palace flat she and William share on the edge of Kensington Gardens. But where the Duchess will head to next is unclear.
The 30-year-old has been told to rest at the palace for at least a week, according to The Telegraph, putting paid to a busy schedule of official engagements over the weekend and week ahead, including a fundraising ball for homeless charity, Centrepoint, at Royal Albert Hall, and attending a screening of The Hobbit in Leicester Square next Wednesday.
The Duchess, who is less than 12 weeks pregnant, may be out of action until the Royal family's traditional Christmas Day church service at Balmoral in Scotland. Rather than risking heading to the couple's rented home in remote Anglesey, where William works with the Royal Airforce, it is thought she will remain close to her doctors.
It is likely she will spend some time resting at her parents' Berkshire home over coming weeks, the Middletons' five-bedroom home in Bucklebury an hour's drive west of London.
William, who has taken compassionate leave from his duties with the RAF, will need to head back to Wales alone to complete requisite annual flying hours before the end of December.
While in hospital, the Duchess was made the punchline of an Australian radio station prank. 2DayFM hosts called the Edward VII impersonating the Queen and the Prince of Wales and were put through to a nurse who gave them intimate information about Catherine's condition.
While the caper ruffled feathers in the UK, the hospital branding the call as "pretty deplorable" and "journalistic trickery", and left some here red-faced - DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian, as well as the station, have since apologised - there is one royal who seems to have taken the joke in his stride.
The Prince of Wales laughingly answered reporters' questions with "How do you know I'm not a radio station?" when speaking on Thursday for the first time about the delight of learning he is to become a grandfather.
The 64-year-old heir went on to say "I'm thrilled, marvellous. It's a very nice thought to become a grandfather in my old age, if I can say so".
