The Warragamba Dam did not spill overnight and the bridges of the Hawkesbury region are still open this morning (Friday).
A Warragamba Dam spokesperson said that while the dam capacity is still high (around 95 per cent), it had not spilled overnight, meaning that no flooding had taken place in the Hawkesbury River.
They do say that the dam is under constant monitoring and that a spill could still occur today (Friday) depending on inflows from recent rain in its catchment.
The RMS has confirmed that there are no current or planned road or bridge closures at this stage until there is any actual flooding.
If the dam does release water, it is expected to cause moderate flooding in the Hawkesbury and shut the Yarramundi, Windsor and North Richmond Bridges, but residents will get several hours notice before this happens.
