Well, there it is.
Australia has recorded its first case of the Omicron COVID-19 variant in the community.
A woman from the NSW central coast, who travelled from South Africa, was infectious in the community for two days before she tested positive for the virus.
NSW Health said several venues were visited by the Omicron-positive woman in Sydney and on the central coast before travellers from southern Africa were directed to go into isolation.
And I simply can't help but think, 'here we go again!'
We're being told to remain calm, not alarmed...
But for those of us living in states that have endured long lockdowns (thanks to Omicron's older cousin Delta), staying calm is easier said than done.
Even Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg wants us to remain optimistic about the country's economic recovery, despite Omicron's arrival.
PM Scott Morrison has also called on state leaders to stay true to their roadmaps and keep internal borders open for Christmas.
"We're not going back to lockdowns. None of us want that," he said.
"[We want to] move forward into Christmas with confidence."
Our chief medical officer, Paul Kelly, also said "we cannot keep the Omicron variant out forever".
Well, NSW now knows that's the cold, hard truth.
Authorities did act fast to reinstate quarantine and notify close contacts though, and that's all we can ask for really.
Weather authorities are also acting fast to warn eastern Australian's that the La Nina deluge is set to continue this week.
The Bureau of Meteorology is particularly concerned about people living in NSW's already drenched north west.
"These communities have already seen major flooding and there's more rainfall on the way over the next two days and we're really concerned that we might see some renewed flooding," BoM national flood operations manager Justin Robinson said.
Residents in Bathurst are also gearing up for an inundation of a different kind.
Crowds are expected to flock to the the town in central west NSW this weekend for 'the great race' - the Bathurst 1000.
Is there anything better than watching a bunch of V8s drive in circles? If you ask my dad, there isn't.
Maybe it'll be enough of a distraction from Omicron for a while?
