The Richmond Inn has relaunched under the management of hospitality group Tilley & Wills, which runs some of Sydney's most iconic trendy pubs and bars including the Greenwood Hotel, Verandah Bar and Beuna Vista Hotel.
Richmond Inn Hotelier, Nick Wills, said the group decided to invest in the Hawkesbury because "it's one of the most beautiful parts of Sydney".
"There has been a huge growth corridor emerging in the past few years and with increasing popularity with NSW daytrippers, the Richmond Inn being on the train line makes it very attractive and accessible to all," Mr Wills said.
"Richmond has the best of both worlds: a country feel but within suburban reach."
Under a multi-million-dollar renovation - which is now complete - new areas have been created including the Front Porch and Homestead with a glassed atrium roof, the private Naughty Corner nook, and an overhauled bistro.
The Public Bar boasts mosaic-patterned floor tiles and a deep brass-topped bar, as well as a cacti wall mural and multiple flat-screen TVs for entertainment.
The inn claims the "biggest beer garden in the Richmond area", and the outdoor area is dog-friendly.
Group executive chef Brad Sloane has created the menu which which boasts three different types of parmigiana, a Sunday roast and one-metre pizzas for group bookings. There is a dedicated kids menu and children under 12 eat for free on Mondays.
For events, there is now an onsite functions manager, and customers can book roaming canape dos, sit-down menus, Christmas parties, and even kids events including the Petting Zoo or Rumpus Room. There will soon be a lineup announced for regular live music and DJ performances.
Mr Wills said there is something for locals and out-of-towners at the new-look hotel.
"The Richmond Inn has belonged to the locals since its opening and will always belong to them. The Tilley & Wills group are here to listen and create a space for everyone to enjoy pub classics that they love (food, beverages and the traditional $5 spirit happy hour) including new fun promotions and events so that customers can have fun," Ms Wills said.
"We encourage everyone to check out the pub as more exciting things are launching very soon."
