Chelsea Windon of Xtreme Talent Co in South Windsor has been named Outstanding Teacher of the Year in the 2021 Ready Set Dance Business Awards.

The awards celebrate and showcase the hard work, determination and achievements of preschool dance studios and teachers who teach using the Ready Set Dance (RSD) program.

Ms Windon said she was "so overwhelmed" to receive the award.

"It is such an honour. This program is so amazing and I am so proud to be a part of not only the program, but its amazing and supportive community too," Ms Windon said.

"Xtreme Talent Co is the only studio in the Hawkesbury area that offers Ready Set Dance.

"Winning this award has truly been the highlight of 2021 for me, after what has been yet another year in lockdown and taking our classes online, it really has been tough.

"I couldn't be happier to be recognised as the official Ready Set Dance teacher of the year."

Glenda Yee, one of the directors of RSD program, said: "This year more than any other we want to connect our community and reward the outstanding leaders who have ensured preschoolers can continue to experience the magic of dance no matter what is happening in the world."

"Chelsea is a thoroughly deserving winner of Teacher of the Year. Her business growth is a testament to the passionate energy she puts into her teaching. She has created many special memories for not only the children in her care but their parents as well."
