From "Mum, I don't want to get out of bed just to sit at the computer" to being dressed at 7.30am, ready to leave.
That's the difference Kate Donovan has seen in her three boys, who occasionally attended school during lockdown due to her work in allied health.
Jarvis, 10, and twins Ted and Louis, 6, are hopeful to get back to school after the sixth lockdown in Melbourne.
"We've lost track of how many weeks we've been in lockdown," Kate said.
"It's been a blur, but we're just taking it a day at a time. The thoughts of them not going back to school this year would send me crazy. For us, home learning is a nightmare. We have no family in the state, so the return to school will be a godsend.
"We're not hanging our hat on Term 4, but we're just taking it as it comes, and we're positive that it can happen, but we are concerned about the lack of a yes or no from leaders."
Twins Ted and Louis haven't had the most beneficial introduction to school, only starting last year.
"They're craving the return to school; they are really social kids," Kate said.
In the wait for the return to school, Kate offered some advice.
"Take every minute as it comes and don't put so much pressure on yourself to teach; you're not a teacher," Kate said.
"Having five people under the same roof 24/7 it is hard to get outside to let the kids burn off energy, take up a new hobby like running, walking or even knitting. Stop and smell the roses, just take some time and enjoy gin," Kate added, laughing.
