Upskill during lockdown with free TAFE NSW short courses

The educational institution is offering a new fee-free course in its Lockdown Learning series, on risk management and work health and safety (WHS).

The Statement of Attainment in Risk Management and WHS is one of 25 courses in the series, joining topics including aviation services, events, and drones in agriculture.

TAFE NSW Managing Director Steffen Faurby said the new course was open to 100 people and would provide essential skills to support businesses as NSW begins to reopen.

"TAFE NSW is proud to offer customised training to help our businesses, our communities, and our economy bounce back from this pandemic," Mr Faurby said.

"We know there will be a need for these skills as COVID-19 restrictions ease and businesses begin to resume or increase their operations.

"Our Statement of Attainment in Risk Management and WHS is particularly pertinent with our increased focus on managing health and safety, adding value for all sectors of industry."

TAFE NSW short courses were first introduced last year as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The free courses are designed to be undertaken at home during lockdown.

Some of the other skills participants can brush up on include building a website, food handling, creating and designing a spreadsheet, introduction to accounting, medical terminology, and more.
