Each student has their own future to create and path to follow, so why not choose a senior high school that can offer a specialist stage 6 environment.

Established in 1999, Wyndham College is located on the Nirimba Education Precinct in Nirimba Fields.

"We provide a unique HSC experience tailored to enhance your individual learning potential, whether you are headed to university, TAFE or getting job ready," principal Karen Smith said.

"The ATAR is one way of measuring success or gaining entry to university, but it's not the only way.

"Wyndham College understands that an ATAR doesn't always reflect someone's ability to succeed at university or in life.

"We believe community involvement and activities outside of school tell us just as much about a person as their exam results."

Most universities and employers know this too.

Many institutions offer early entry schemes, alternative entry pathways for qualified applicants with different experiences and study, such as VET or TAFE courses, or who are First Nations students.

Even those who qualify as elite athletes or performers may find opportunities due to sport or performing commitments impacting their studies.

With the challenges posed by the pandemic, it has been worth seeing what options are offered by tertiary institutions.

Receiving an early entry offer to attend university generally doesn't depend on ATAR, but relies on the school's assessment of your personal attributes, your ability to work and learn independently, as well as your overall potential for academic success.

"That is why we focus on providing a caring and holistic education that is committed to developing young adults," Ms Smith said.

"Our students reap the benefits of extra-curricular activities such as school leadership through the SRC and representative sport as a member of the Wyndham Sports Academy."

There are also numerous other clubs and special interest groups designed to engage students in all aspects of senior school life and create an environment which is conducive to future success.

Wyndham College student Annalise Ahmad said, "Gaining early entry enabled me to enter the HSC period with the confidence that I had already received an offer to study at university, and the ATAR to get into my course was lowered, reducing the stress I felt during this period."

Wyndham College is currently enrolling for year 11 and year 12 in 2022.
