Welcome Ryan
I am delighted with the news this week that one of the game's most exciting young players, Melbourne Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen, has joined Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) as an ambassador.
We are very fortunate at GRNSW, particularly through our Greyhounds As Pets (GAP) program, to have some wonderful men and women as ambassadors, but Ryan's ambassadorial role is unique as it entails both the racing and rehoming sides of the industry.
Ryan will be working with the GAP team on some of their events and campaigns but will also be a big part of the promotion of racing, particularly the TAB Million Dollar Chase next year.

Knows how to do it
They won the event two years ago with Good Odds Harada, and now Frank and Tracey Hurst are just one win away from a berth in the TAB Million Dollar Chase Grand Final.
Last week at Dapto, the Zone 1 NSW Sprint Championship was held, and like Zulu Warlord, the winner of the Zone 2 event which was run outside the locked down Greater Sydney region, at Bathurst, the victor also won their way directly through to a place in the Chase semi-finals next April.
The successful winner at Dapto was Frank and Tracey's young sprinter Good Odds Cash, who at the age of just 22 months, will actually be very well suited by the series postponement until next year.
As Frank said after the win and the semi-final ticket was secured: "I know how to win one."
Get behind the boxes
Particularly in these days of lockdown, everyone seems to be getting into podcasts, and I was thrilled to be the inaugural guest on a new podcast launched by thedogs.com.au team last week, called Behind The Boxes with Duke and Battler.
Hosted by two of the best in the business, Mark Duclos (Duke) and Tim Newbold (Battler), it was great to spend some time with the guys on Behind The Boxes chatting about everything that is going on in our industry, and all things greyhound racing in NSW.
Naturally there were some serious issues discussed, but we were also able to have a laugh and I thoroughly enjoyed the chat, and the feedback I have personally received about the show has been extremely positive.
The boys also go through the form and find some winners, and anyone interested in greyhound racing is guaranteed to find the show informative and entertaining.
