People in Windsor Downs, Bligh Park, Clarendon and South Windsor have been warned to be 'vigilant' after another detection of COVID-19 fragments in the South Windsor sewage.
NSW Health's ongoing sewage surveillance program has detected fragments of the virus that causes COVID-19 at the sewage system at South Windsor, where there are no known cases, for the second day in a row.
"South Windsor sewage treatment plant serves about 19,000 people in Windsor Downs, Bligh Park, Clarendon and South Windsor," NSW Health stated.
"Everyone in these suburbs is asked to be particularly vigilant for the onset of symptoms that could signal COVID-19, and if they appear, to immediately be tested and isolate until a negative result is received."
Another COVID-19 positive case was recorded in the Penrith Local Government Area (LGA) overnight, bringing the total in that region to 27. The source of the new case is yet to be identified.
A positive COVID-19 case was also recorded overnight in the Blue Mountains LGA, bringing the total for that area to three. The source of the new case is yet to be identified.
Hawkesbury numbers remain stable at six cases, all from identified sources of transmission.
There were 210 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in NSW to 8pm last night, and at least 32 of those people were in the community while infectious.
Of the 210 locally acquired cases, 81 were from South Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD), 72 were from Western Sydney LHD, 38 were from Sydney LHD, 11 were from South Eastern Sydney LHD, four were from Northern Sydney LHD, two were from Nepean Blue Mountains LHD - which accounts for the Penrith and Blue Mountains cases - one was in Central Coast LHD and there was one whose address is in Western NSW but resides in Sydney.
