After a year on the sidelines due to COVID, the ever popular Penrith Dolls, Bear and Craft Show is back.
It will be held from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, June 27, at Jamison High School, 22 Evans Street, South Penrith.
The show is considered the premier event of its kind and attracts visitors from far afield.
As always, there will be a doll and bear competition, collectable dolls and bears, dolls clothes and accessories, reborn and antique dolls, doll's furniture and accessories, lace, ribbon and beads, art and craft supplies, trading tables, jewellery, wigs and millinery and handmade gifts.
Entry costs $6 for adults and $2 for children and all proceeds will go towards domestic violence support programs and ovarian cancer research undertaken by Professor Anna de Fazio and her team at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research.
Professor de Fazio is the Sydney-West chair in Translational Cancer Research, University of Sydney at Westmead Hospital and is co-director of the Centre for Cancer Research. She also heads the Gynaecological Oncology Research Group at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research.
Professor de Fazio leads the INOVATe program, which is focused on precision medicine and ovarian cancer clinical trials, and leads the Clinical Follow-up Croe of the Australian Ovarian Cancer Study.
The focus of her research is on understanding the clinico-genomic perameters that underlie response and resistance to treatment, and ultimately, to improve treatment outcomes for women with ovarian cancer.
A fundraising raffle will also be held during the show.
