Maybe decades down the track, when historians look back on our current times, they'll call it the tumultuous 20s.
The last 18 months in Victoria have certainly contained enough intense happenings to wear that title.
Then it rolled into a global pandemic, which brought its associated despair through numerous outbreaks and lockdowns.
And, to top it all off, the state's premier was recently incapacitated with a spinal injury.
However, after a lengthy layoff, Daniel Andrews has been vaccinated and declared himself fit to return to work at the end of the month.
The 48-year-old took to Facebook on Saturday night to confirm he was "raring" to return to work later this month, having been given the all-clear by his medical team.
"The good news is the vertebrae in my back is almost fully healed, the braces come off - that's the brace I've worn for 18 hours a day for the last three months," Mr Andrews said in a video message posted to Facebook.
Meanwhile, the growing calls within the federal government to allow an asylum seeking Tamil family, previously based in Biloela in rural Queensland, to return to the mainland have been dashed by acting PM Michael McCormack.
Indicating a possible shift inside government on the fate of the Murugappan family, Liberal MP Trent Zimmerman said that while the case was "very complicated", support for them in the Australian community was "overwhelming".
Mr McCormack disagreed with Mr Zimmerman.
"What we don't want to see is the boats return," he said.
"Trent was not in parliament when some of those ships were lost at sea, some of those leaky boats were dashed up against rocks and all lives lost.
"I was. I remember the heartache, I remember the loss."
Mr Bolsonaro led a throng of motorcyclist supporters through the streets of Sao Paulo, while not wearing a mask.
Sao Paulo's state government press office said a fine - equivalent to about $US110 - ($A143) would be imposed for violation of a rule that has required masks in public places since May 2020.
Bolsonaro, who tested positive for the coronavirus last year, also was fined for failure to wear a mask during a rally with supporters in May in the north-eastern state of Maranhao.
