The 21st annual Country Music Showcase and Maureen Wagner Country Music Awards will be held at Richmond Club on Friday, May 28.
Headlining the star-studded event will be Australian country music royalty Melinda Schneider, who last year celebrated her 40th year in thr recording business.
An award-winning singer-songwriter, performer, storyteller and CEO and founder of Mpower Records, Melinda is an icon of the local music industry.
Over the years she has released 14 albums and has been awarded an amazing six CMAA Golden Guitars.
Melinda was introduced to the listening public at age eight, when she joined her mother Mary on a recording.
Having been on stage from the age of three it was expected that Melinda would keep the family tradition of entertaining alive. And while she certainly has done so, it is through songwriting that she truly found her voice.
Melinda is well known for delivering honest material that has resonated with fans and citics alike.
Her output is best described as diverse and multi-faceted.
Of course, Melinda is also a favourite on the live stage and boasts a legion of loyal fans around the country.
A personal highlight was her iconic theatre show, "Doris, Doris Day - Much More Than the Girl Next Door".
The tour, which accompanied her number one album, Melinda Does Doris, toured extensively and even sold out the Sydney Opera House twice.
Aside from the musical spotlight, melinda is also a fashion designer, has competed on Dancing With the Stars and delivered key-note speeches to empowered women across the country.
She's also proven herself to be a talented actress, having made her debut at age 13 in A Country Practice.
But back to music, Melinda boasts having her tracks recorded by the likes of John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John and Paul Kelly.
Joining Melinda for the showcase will be a number of accomplished stars in their own right including Steve Passfield and Angus Gill, Brad Bergen, Jarrah F Smith and Hudson Rose.
They will be accompanied on the night by the Down Town Country Band, comprising Mike Kerrin, Tommy Grassoi, Ian Lees and Paul Novosel.
The show will start at 8pm and tickets cost $35 per person, with chldren aged under 12 free when accompanied by an adult.
A signed Fender guitar will be raffled on the night.
