Council is encouraging residents to "nominate a mate for being great" for its 2022 Hawkesbury Australia Day Awards.
Nominations can me made in one of more of the following categories: Citizen of the Year; Young Citizen of the Year; Local Hero Award; Volunteer of the Year; Sportsperson of the Year; Junior Sportsperson of the Year; All Abilities Sportsperson of the Year; Community Arts Award; Cultural Heritage Award, Environmental Award; Community Organisation of the Year; and Commemorative Plaque.

The awards are handed out as part of Hawkesbury Council's Australia Day Ceremony, January 26, traditionally following the annual citizenship ceremony.
Winners are determined by the Hawkesbury Civic and Citizenship Committee and judging takes place in early December.
Nominees, nominators and their guests will be invited to attend the presentation event.

All nominees must be Hawkesbury residents or non-residents who have significantly contributed to the LGA.
Nominations must be completed online by 5pnm on Friday, October 29.
Those unsuccessful in previous years may be resubmitted for consideration in the 2022 awards.
