With the Hawkesbury Show kicking off on Friday, the current Hawkesbury Showgirl, Eliza Babazogli has just finished up competing in the Land Showgirl Competition at the Royal Easter Show.
There were 15 competitors at the Easter Show. Eliza was Representing Zone Two, alongside Milton's Emily Quinn, and despite not placing she found it to be an amazing experience.
"It was good," she said. "It was pretty tough competition.
"The days were pretty full on, they were action-packed. We got to see a lot of the show behind the scenes and we got to meet most of the people that ran all the different sections.
"We got to learn about the wood-chop, the flower section, the cattle section."
Eliza said that it was good to see all the mentoring, personal and educational programs that were on offer at the show.
"There were a lot of different talks and things. We got to go to parliament house and government house. They definitely filled it up with the different experiences.
"We got to explore all of the show not just certain areas. I had been going there for a long time with the horses and the cattle, so it was amazing to see how all the different departments were run and what goes into them.
"Absolutely a different perspective and what goes into it, with the volunteers and the workers."
Eliza found the Easter Show to be a very good lead up to the Hawkesbury Show.
"I've been hanging out for the Hawkesbury Show," she said. "Because I've done all of these events as Showgirl, but I haven't even done the Hawkesbury Show yet as the Showgirl.
"So, it's made me quite excited and I am looking more forward to it now."
