Ordinary piles of sand will come to life when sculptor Dennis Massoud turns them into works of art at the Hawkesbury Show on the weekend.
It's the unique artist's first appearance at the Show and he will create a number of sand sculptures, as well as conducting a children's workshop.
On Friday he will be sculpting a horse, on Saturday a dragon that breathes fire and on Sunday a work featuring a mermaid and dolphins.
"I usually start around 9am and I usually finish the sculpture around 1pm. Then from 1pm until 4pm I'll conduct workshops for children," Mr Massoud said.
"I'll be putting some sand on tables so that way people who don't want to get too sandy only get their hands sandy, and it also allows people in wheelchairs to participate. I'll be giving away some of my secrets to sand sculpture, and once they participate in the workshops they will definitely lift their game next time they go to the beach."
Mr Massoud said he was looking forward to working at the Hawkesbury Show.
