Berkshire Park's Pets Training and Boarding Centre is offering free accommodation for the dogs and cats of those forced to leave their properties amid the flooding.
"We understand with current weather conditions assistance is needed and we are here to help," the centre said via a Facebook post.
"We are high and dry and ready to help. We have lots of room to take in furry friends that may be in need."
When asked why the centre had decided to open its doors, a spokesperson said the answer was quite simple: "we have the room and we are all animals lovers and we know in time of need we have to be there. This is a time we can help out the community".
The centre is a family-run business that has been operating at Berkshire Park for more than 40 years.
Those looking to make use of the kind offer are urged to call ahead of arrival. The number is 1300 889 263.
The centre is located at 95 Sixth Road, Berkshire Park.
It is open between 8.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Saturdays, and 8.30am to 10.30am on Sundays.
