STATS THAT MATTER: Adelaide kicked a club-record 13.7 (85) in their 70-point thumping of Gold Coast. Danielle Ponter kicked four goals as the Crows fell just one point short of the Western Bulldogs' competition-record high score.

PLAYER OF THE ROUND: Brisbane's Dakota Davidson has somehow slipped under the radar for most of this season, but with another two goals against GWS she is undoubtedly one of the best small forwards in the competition.

KEY MOMENT: Collingwood's perfect season record was under serious threat when they were goalless and trailed the Bulldogs by two points at half-time. Enter co-captain Brianna Davey, who stood tall with 11 third-quarter disposals in a total of 28 as she helped spark the Magpies into life.

TALKING POINT: Carlton made a surprise call to leave out marquee star Tayla Harris for their win over lowly Geelong and ended up kicking their highest score of the season. Blues coach Daniel Harford later said Harris was managing a knee complaint and confirmed his key forward will return against Fremantle in round seven.

WHAT'S NEXT: North Melbourne host the Western Bulldogs in Hobart and Melbourne take on Adelaide in a pair of Saturday fixtures that will have huge finals implications. On Sunday, flag fancies Brisbane and Collingwood do battle, while finals hopefuls Carlton take on Fremantle.
