Mayfield is regarded as one of the country's most significant horticultural destinations
Located just beyond the peaks of the Blue Mountains is Mayfield Garden, with its majestic cool climate flora, sprawling lawns, produce gardens, water features and renowned garden café.
Mayfield is one of the largest private gardens in Australia and is also now regarded as one of the country's most significant horticultural destinations.
While Mayfield Garden is open to the public 363 days a year, this summer there are two special events that will appeal to Blue Mountain residents looking to stay cool in the warmer months without the need to travel long distances.
How about living among the rose gardens and water features of Mayfield Garden with their super luxe glamping experience?
The glamping package is available from December 27 to January 25 and comes with all the luxuries of glamping including lush linens, a proper mattress to sink into, lavish furnishings, and day and night access to the great outdoors.
The experience is available to pairs and families with rates starting from $360 per night for two, which also includes dinner at the renowned Mayfield Restaurant, where you'll get to taste some of the garden's freshly picked produce. But before you settle in for a feast, you'll want to venture through the amazing 65-hectare private family estate where you will see the full range of spectacular garden features.
You can also enhance the experience by booking a private tour with one of the resident gardeners or book a sunset picnic and arrange to get breakfast delivered to your tent.
The second event to consider is the Summer Festival which will take place this year from Sunday, December 27 to Tuesday, January 26.
Access to the full 65-hectare garden - which includes the 50-hectare private family estate - will be open for the duration of the festival.
Visitors will have the chance to experience the extraordinary blooms and colours resulting from the excellent rain received this year.
You will also get to enjoy the private garden which features one of Australia's largest English Box Hedge Mazes as well as the Mayfield Amphitheatre, Family Chapel, Water Garden, the Stumpery and the old-fashioned fun of rowing on the Mayfield Lake.
