The Kurrajong Country Women's Association have received an exemption from this years rates notice, after approaching Councillor Sarah Richards for assistance.
The community organisation are a unique case as they own the building, the CWA Hall in Kurrajong Village, that they operate out of.
After receiving a rates notice earlier this year, the organisation approached councillors looking for assistance.
CWA hold limited events throughout the year where they can raise money for the organisation.
Cr Richards approached Council staff on behalf of the Kurrajong branch.
"They own the building at kurrajong, so their circumstance is a little bit different," she said. "I took it rates notice to council staff and they said the CWA fit the criteria for an exemption.
"For the rest of the year they will not be required to pay for the rates and will receive a refund of what they have already paid.
"They will continue to be eligible for this in future years, they will just have to reapply."
Cr Richards said she was extremely happy that she could assist the organisation.
"It'll roughly be $2000 that they can put back into the community," she said.
"I think it's brilliant. Everyone knows the CWA and they do so much for the community.
"It's a nice win for them."
